I have been asked many times (well not so many), what do you actually do when you are not playing tennis, cycling, or at home with your family. Here we go.

In the last few years I have been developing Web-applications. First porting existing applications and later on designing and implementing new projects.

I mainly use open source software. If you want to spend some time going into the technical details look at the my notes How to get startet with Web-apps, or to get a more general overview, see the pages at AOI-Systeme describing my bussiness in general terms.

Recently I have been involved in developing an application for smartphones (iPhone) and a Web-App (using JSF with Primefaces), which is hosted in the cloud, i.e. at the Google App Engine.

I started doing research (computer science) at the university and have done a fair amount of teaching (CS and computational biology) before switching to the real stuff (see above). I do like what I am doing now (well not always but most of the time). There is so much new methodology and technology published every day that you can spend all your time diving into it, but, as we all know eventually we have to do some work (earn money) as well.
